SHINIGAMI EYES PERMISSIONS Misa made the trade for shinigami eyes, which enable her to see the real name and lifespan of living humans, though she does not know how to read the lifespans. This works with videos as well as photos, as long as the majority of the face is not obscured— essentially, if the person is recognizable. If the person is dead, she sees nothing. If the person owns a Death Note, then she will only see their name. Please let me know if: 1) Your character is inhuman (but looks human), in which case she will see nothing. 2) Your character is taken post-death in their canon, in which case she will see nothing. 3) Your character has no real name/only has one name/we don't know their real name, in which case we should decide on something together. 4) Your character goes by a fake name, in which case she will see their true one if they interact. DEATH NOTE PERMISSIONS Misa is in possession of a Death Note, a black notebook used by shinigami to kill humans, thereby extending their own lifespans. Simply put, whoever has their real name written in the Death Note while the writer envisions their face will die. If only their name is written, they will die from a heart attack. Otherwise the target can be manipulated for up to 23 days before dying in whatever way is written, as long as it is feasible and does not cause anyone not written in the Notebook to die as a consequence. If an impossible death is written in, then the person will just die from a heart attack. Like the shinigami eyes, the Death Note will only work on humans. Misa must know your character's real name (which she can get from looking at them) and face for it to work. Obviously I won't have Misa kill anyone without the mun's consent, and for some of you your answer will probably be case-specific, but please leave a note if you know for sure that you don't want your character to be killed/manipulated via Notebook or are totally cool with it. Hm. How are you handling folks from video games who could have died but been revived through items during gameplay? I don't mind if you have Rikku killed via the Death Note if it comes up at some point, just want to make sure whatever decision is arrived at is consistent.

I'm not 100% sure Misa could see Conan's real name as his face has been altered back to that of his childhood. It came up in one of the Detective Conan movies that a machine that was supposed to show what he'd look like in ten years broke as it isn't the face he's supposed to have.

So if it's okay with you, I'd rather whatever she can see of his name is horribly blurred or something. Or no name and just a life span.

Meanwhile, if she feels she absolutely must kill the weird kid in oversized glasses, she may do so. However, he does look like a seven year old :|a

I think that since Shinichi is still in the same body and has simply reverted to what he looked like when he was younger, Misa would see his name. His lifespan might be affected, but she doesn't know how to read that anyway.

We can negotiate on that if you really don't want her to know. If you don't want her to know his name for any reason other than Death Noting, like not wanting her to share it, we can definitely plot around that! The way I am envisioning it, she would know that the tiny kid is using a fake name and nothing else. I very much doubt that she'll find reason to kill him xD

Because yeah, Conan's main concern with people finding out who he really is, is that some people might find he's a little less dead then they previously thought and that could put a lot of people in danger.

Sure! I don't think that Misa is going to have much interest beyond wondering why such a little kid is lying about his name. She doesn't want people to know about her eyes, so she wouldn't mention the discrepancy to anyone.

As for his name, Theta has no 'real' name. He's the result of a biological metacrisis and came into being instantly as he is now.
