SHINIGAMI EYES PERMISSIONS

Misa made the trade for shinigami eyes, which enable her to see the real name and lifespan of living humans, though she does not know how to read the lifespans. This works with videos as well as photos, as long as the majority of the face is not obscured— essentially, if the person is recognizable. If the person is dead, she sees nothing. If the person owns a Death Note, then she will only see their name.

Please let me know if:

1) Your character is inhuman (but looks human), in which case she will see nothing.
2) Your character is taken post-death in their canon, in which case she will see nothing.
3) Your character has no real name/only has one name/we don't know their real name, in which case we should decide on something together.
4) Your character goes by a fake name, in which case she will see their true one if they interact.

Mello is, as you know, an alias; his real name is Mihael Keehl, and he's pretty touchy about anyone knowing that, WHICH ISN'T TO SAY IT SHOULDN'T HAPPEN, but he does take preventative measures in obscuring his face and will double down on this the second he learns that Misa is here, so.

Nick's full name is Nichole Rivenna but she is kiiiinda not exactly human? She's a Nightbane, which is a "developmentally atypical human," soooooo I am not sure if Misa should see anything for her. If she does, her lifespan will be way huge, because Nightbane live for basically ever unless killed by other Nightbane.

Souji's straight-up human and his full name is Souji Seta, she'd see it in kanji since he's Japanese, plus an average lifespan.

He's human, but is classified as somewhere between life and death in his world. It could be interesting CR-wise for her to see nothing from him though, because as far as he knows, he is human and very much alive, but definitely reads as dead to folks who can sense the undead and such.

Okay, you obviously know that Near is an alias, and this little jerk's real name is Nate River. Also, according to Mikami's shinigami eyes, his lifespan reads as 43406. Which is apparently an incomplete number or some junk, but it's canon so we may as well use it. Presuming she ever manages to see his face, which of course he takes precautions against and will do even more once he's aware that Misa is about. (... At least he occasionally leaves the house now?)

Ai's full name is Ai Ebihara. She's as human as you get and only her last name will be in kanji, her first name will appear in hirigana. And I guess she would have an average lifespan.

Castiel is an angel, and therefore inhuman, but he does reside inside a squishy human body with a name of its own, Jimmy Novak. Who is dead and departed as of three years ago. So I don't know if you want to get funky with her reading Jimmy's name and some bizarre negative number, or not see anything at all, but that's up to you!

Although if you like his eyes can permanently glow pale blue!

Hey so this is a bit late but spoilers: Corbin's not human. XD But I'm sure Misa figured that one out already. But, as he can change into a human and is touchy about people knowing about the whole werecrow thing, I'm not sure if he's going to change into human where she can see (he'd also be naked, so that's another reason not to) so if she sees him around in his normal, lanky redhead form, she won't see anything.

Chris is alive and totally human, though he has no canon last name. I figure this won't really come up anyway so feel free to assume she sees it but just gloss over what it actually is.

Ruby (corundum) is inhuman but appears human since she's inhabiting a vessel, but she herself is a demon (and in SPN canon therefore essentially a warped ghost.) Her vessel is devoid of a human soul and technically dead, so I imagine Misa wouldn't see anything from it either.
