I know you said you didn't want to have anything to do with the doppelganger, but we have a big problem. I think that Cesar's in trouble now, too.

[Misa glances down at the text and sighs, deeply. She doesn't want to have anything to do with either of them, truth be told, and Lazarus's sudden concern over his ex isn't doing anything to soothe her insecurities.]

[There is a long, looong silence on her end.]

Yeah... Cesar didn't know about us. He didn't take it well when I told him, I don't think. Then the doppelganger started sending him messages, and Cesar started ignoring mine.

My attempts to contact him via network have been deleted by Ryuzaki.

[Immediately she is on the defensive and actually a little distracted from the pregnancy scandal.]

Did he want to get back together with you? What did he say?

[A startled and disbelieving noise is her only response to that for several seconds.]

That's not what this is. My doppelganger is victimizing a string of people and I don't know where my responsibility for it factors in, but it's got to be somewhere, right?

[She sounds hopeful, but not entirely convinced.]

[And then, as if it is just occurring to her all over again-]

[He moves quickly to get the hot cocoa ready, preoccupied enough that he forgets the sugar, and then he hurries over and knocks insistently on the door.]

[Misa spends the few minutes he takes pacing around the room, going through everything she is going to scream at the doppelganger for saying such a thing and at Cesar for believing. She runs to the door and has it open at the second knock, grabbing Lazarus and pulling him inside before slamming the door behind him.]

Has word gotten out? Do other people think it's true? I'm going to kill that stupid- ghhh!

[She impulsively pulls Lazarus into a hug, before letting go and resuming pacing.]

How did that thing even know you and Cesar were talking again? Why now?

[No sooner is he in the door than she's opening it and pulling him bodily inside, nearly spilling the cocoa in the process. He's able to set it on the counter, and it only overflows a little before she's beginning to rant and pulling him into a welcome and relieving (but highly confusing) hug.]

Uh, n-no. I don't think that word has gotten out. He just told Cesar.

[He watches dazedly as she paces.]

We were talking on the Network. We moved to a private channel before it got serious or specific but...he must have suspected that something was up. He has a sense for that.

Do you have any Tylenol?

[He sinks into the sofa, pinching the bridge of his nose and resting his elbows on his knees.]
